stupiddreams88 does it with a toaster oven. I think its a brilliant idea but you still have to have the powder gun. buying 10 boxes in bulk pre-powder coated is $1 more per box than a raw 10 pack.

Yeah I'm curing mine with a toaster oven. Makes it a lot easier.

Anyone have any tricks for quickly clear coating over waterslide?

Baking doesn't seem to get along with decals.

not sure about drying tricks. you could probably rig something up but whats the rush if its just sitting somewhere? thats not using man hours. as for the painting process, you just want to do a little at a time in a dust free room with the right angle, pressure, distance. if you rush it, you loose that smooth clear quality.

The solid (powder coated) ones are from Mammoth. When I get some extra money I will be doing my own. Gotta get the sprayer set, air compressor, and oven. Have a toaster oven that I used to use with pedals, but it won't get hot enough for power coats. Thinking of finding a cheap oven on clist. That way I can do bigger stuff too.

For waterslides, I would just use spray sealer, and let them sit for a couple days in the sun. Use lots of thin coats to build up a thick one or it will never dry. I painted that space enclosure like 4 days ago and still haven't put the guts in. A day in the sun to dry the paint. A day for all clear and more time in the sun. Another day of drying in the sun. Now it's been sitting in my room "curing" more for good measure.

I use lacquer. It dries fast (10 minutes to the touch)
Use a fan for drying even faster.
Lacquer > decal > lacquer x2 works well for me using
full face laser decals. Lacquer semi melts the decal
so it's win, win.

If the decal is reacting to the clear coat then the heat is too high
and or the paint before the clear coat isn't cured enough when you
apply the decal.

Bad pics of my Dobsky Fuzz, mixture of the Civil War/Tall Font Russian Muff and the Jumbo Tonebender with the requisite mids control.

This is the first pedal I've built in a while, that I am hesitant not to sell. DE Soda Meiser clone (on turret of course!), with addition of momentary switching for the chaos/noise mode. This is another Mammoth powder coated enclosure, with a gold antique finish.
