A Badzt Maru Bronco would be a great candidate for this, especially if you're going to route for a new pickup and cut a new pickguard anyways.

You could probably frankenstein two of them. Black bronco bass with white hello kitty pickguard, turned into a Bass VI? Can you say GAS?!
PS - anyone have a Bronco bass or Badzt Maru Bronco bass they want to sell me cheap?
I've always wanted one of those things.

Long story short:
I go to GC today to find a case for my newly converted VI.
When I get there the only case they have to fit it is one of those weird padded Road Runner soft hardcases.
Right when I am about to leave I notice that the case at the very bottom of the stack is different than the rest so I asked the dude to get it out for me.
When he pulls it out I see it's an SKB, it looks used and has a few scratches and no tags. My VI fits perfect!
So I ask him "how much?"
He says "I have to check inventory and if it's not in there, I can't sell it to you"
He checks and it's not in inventory.
He says "I can't sell it to you"
I say "That sucks"
He says " I can't sell it to anyone if it's not in inventory so go ahead and take it"
I say "You want some cash?"
He says "No, spend it on something else"
I say "Cool, thanks"

It always pissed me off they didn't put this on the bass
