ILF I love you all but sometimes man...I just hate this fucking place. That's a shitty feeling.

I like to believe people are still capable of that and we just messed up once (or eleventy times).

But each thread, conversation and interaction is a chance to be better and I don't think the best reaction to "it's difficult to talk about controversial things without this happening" is not to try at all.

I'll be the first to admit this next point isn't great but, since I do PM with a some of the people echo attacked, I would wager these people (I'm including you Mr. Fox) don't really see these insults as that big of a deal? I don't agree with his methodology but...I don't know...it's like if someone called me a "Soy Boy" or something not-ironically. I really wouldn't care (I'd probably find it amusing tbh ). If anyone was actually offended by those posts I apologize.

Ok. I'll let my real feelings be known here. I think there has been a massive mob mentality on the forums lately. When I say lately, I mean the last year or two. I have almost left the forums a handful of times because honestly, I cannot stand it. Not only that but we have the PC crew coming in and judging everyone based on everything. It gets old and I'm really really tired of it.

Now, what's funny to me is I've spoken with a lot of you folks individually and you are totally different when you're not in a group dynamic. I am the same motherfucker no matter where I go. I am outspoken, rude and sometimes pompous but that's just who the fuck I am.

I love ILF. I love the members here, but I really really think that folks need a reality check. Maybe we all need to step back from the keyboards for awhile because the level of hate coming out of this place lately is disgusting.

I, actually, didn't respond until after his first "fuck you" rant.
Even then, it was a trump gif signifying dismissal and a joke referring to the famed Manny.

After his second round of fuck you's, I laughed when D.o.S. pointed out that he didn't number the rant properly.

After his third round of fuck you's (where he referred to me in his narcissistic rant about how the ILF elites are targeting him or some shit), I posted an eye rolling gif and sarcastically "accepted" him as the victim.

At that point he started directly insulting me.

So, yeah, fuck that.
echorec is doing, basically, the same thing Manny did right before he got booted.
He started the downward spiral, and then continued to push it forward as much as he could.

It's not a conspiracy or a mob.
Acting like it is is just a tactic to dismiss the genuine concerns other people have with this kind of behavior.

I agree with this 100%.

jwar, nothing but love and respect for you too (and you clearly have demonstrated your ability to handle/mitigate difficult situation in your real life), but I don't think it's prudent to have a thread deleted just because it goes awry. All things considered some names have been said but no one is physically threatening anyone. I think an open discussion is absolutely essential to forums. Tom and The Velvet Hammer have been through enough this year with difficult threads. I think there needs to be a better way of the user base dealing with it.
