Ok ok...I watched Justice League and Infinity wars within 2 weeks of each other...firstly...infinity wars is amazing, best marvel movie yet.
For my comparison, I’ll put it really simply...Infinity War was a cinematic production...and Justic League was a made for TV movie.
DC seems to have good of effects...but it’s inconsequential since the story and script are absolute shit!

Some thoughts on Infinty Wars:
It was a movie. It was okay. I liked that woman from Black Panther's reaction to Bruce tripping over, and the bit where Thor was laying down the smack.
Really sick of all the bullshit online with people jizzing their pants over how neatly tied together the plots where. TV writers do this shit all the time, in fact that's the entire format. The writers of Infinity Wars have 45 years worth of comics to draw from, and have had ten years to mould this one into shape. Seriously, there's what, 3 or 4 simple plot lines going on, that's it. It's fine, and you get a lot of movie for your money, but like every other Marvel movie, I have little to no interest in re-watching it. The only ballsy thing about it was the ending and even then, it's not exactly set in stone, so doesn't have the impact it could have had.
However, I can't wait for the
Captain Planet cross-over now that Sam Jackson has sent the Bat-signal out to Krypton
That's it.

just saw it last night. it was good. yeah, i don't think it's amazing to wrap up a bunch of story lines, because it..... doesn't. it just features a fuck ton of characters that were in a fuck ton of standalone movies and the main baddie that was lurking occasionally in After The Credit Scenes.
what i DID like and enjoy a lot was....
really good balance of serious and comedy. Ragnarok is the most fun movie from Marvel yet, but it's prettttty weird to see jokes as their home planet falls apart.
the right amount of screen time for soooo many characters.
the villain was more nuanced than i expected. Killmonger is probably my favorite MCU villain, Loki is the most fan boy love love, but he vacillates between villain and wannabe hero daddy why won't you love me and selfish fuck stick. so not a straight uo villain.
if you enjoy a fair amount of the other movies, then there are some touching ass moments (mmmmmm touching ASSSSSS). Spidey and Thor (loveeee himmmmm) especially.
but.....
yeah. ALL those characters, except MAYBE Gamorra, are coming back. they'll all be in the Soul Stone, which i think is where Thanos went to talk to Bebe Gammy after he Sassy Finger Snap won.
i would almost believe in perma-death for once in MCU.... if they didna kill Spidey RIGHT AFTER THEY FINALLY FUCKING GOT HIM BACK and T'Challies after his movie made a CROTCH brick of cashes.
i really hope the end of the next one isn't a RetCon Wipe The Slate Clean thing.

Killmonger is one of the best movie villains to come out in a long time. Like I mentioned about Shape of Water, I'm of the belief that the best villains are the ones you can empathize with and even somewhat feel sorry for (with obvious exceptions, e.g. the Joker, Anton Chigurh, Hans Gruber, Hannibal Lecter, etc). For example, I thought Strickland was way, way, WAAAAYYYY too heavy handed and that del Toro was beating you over the head with very shallow symbolism using him. Killmonger actually had the right idea (using Wakanda's technology to improve the rest of the world) but because of his upbringing, living in the hood, and being trained by the CIA to be a destabilizing ghost operative his way of going about his goal was twisted and dark. They also spent time to actually develop his backstory and show you why he's the way he is, something that is not all too common in movies, especially in the capeshit genre.
Hell, I think one of the reasons why Black Panther was so damn successful and is somewhere in the top 3 in almost everyone's Marvel rankings is because the first half is so dissimilar to so many of Marvel's other offerings. The first half is basically African Casino Royale/Skyfall with a dude who happens to have superpowers, and it doesn't really get Marvelly until T'Challa goes back to reclaim the throne. That's why I liked it, at least; if you didn't know Black Panther was a Marvel character you wouldn't have known it was a Marvel movie at all. I've never been a fan of the Cap or Avengers movies, so the thought of having to sit through Infinity War sounds like torture to me. And on that note....
You know they're bringing everyone back because of that sweet, sweet box office cheese those characters bring in, especially Spidey, BP, and the GotG. Gamora may not make it back, but IIRC she's not in the current GotG roster. I do know that a lot of actors aren't returning after IW2: Electric Boogaloo, but I think it's so Marvel/Disney can shift over to their more modern renditions of the characters. There's no way Disney shuts down this money factory anytime soon.

Deadpool 2 is a mixed bag of good and lazy ideas but on the whole pretty decent, not as good as the first one. solid B

Deadpool 2 was fun. i liked the first, dug the second. nothing amazing or life changing, but really good for what it wants to be?
Killmonger is such a great villain. love how he went out, hate that the character is gone.

true, there is NO WAY they're killing Panthah after that movie made ALL THE MONEY, or Spidey after finally getting him back.
but.... that actually follows the comic. whole point of the MYSTERIOUS AND UNEXPLAINED SOUL STONE was that that is where everyone went when he snapped his fingers, heroes and peons both.
pretty sure where Thanos and Bebe Gam-Gams were walking, the surreal pavilion in the misty pink water, was supposed to be inside the Soul Stone.

I loved everything about the movie but that spear/sword thing was dumb.

You cannot stick that thick hunk of metal into somebody, especially not through the chest cavity.

Deadpool 2 was fun and an always welcomed change from the typical Marvel tropes and formulas. Gonna be really interesting to see how this plays out now that Disney owns Fox.

I was behind and had not seen Thor Ragnarok or Black Panther, so I checked them out. Thor was ok, nothing spectacular and then the Black Panther was just kind of ho-hum IMO. It didn't really do anything amazing either. I guess o didn't realize you just needed a glow flower and some vibarnium to be the Black Panther. Jordan's kid did pretty good, I definitely thought he was menacing enough, and the shaved head woman was a real BA.. I liked her character a lot. So I guess I'm ready to see infinity wars..
I also watched Justice League, which I liked, but it definitely felt rushed, like some executive somewhere just said "dudes we need to get our team up movie out now! Fuck! We're getting killed!" .. but I still found it really good, and I liked the team banter and all. The flash kid is kind of annoying but he's supposed to be. I wasn't expecting to like Jason Mamoa after his lackluster performance in Bullet to the Head and Conan (though the Conan movie is great just because) .. but damn I really thought it was fun. And of course Wonder Woman was fantastic as before..
I think ultimately I like the DC heroes and stories more, they just need to up their game as far as the movie development goes. Batman V Superman was pretty choice IMO. I know everyone bitched it was too long, but It was for the fans not the bandwagon super hero moviegoer. And yeah, I like Ben Afflecks Batman. I liked Jesse dingus what's his dick as Lex Luther too. And fucking Jeremy Irons as Alfred? Hans Gruber's bro? Yes yes.
Anyway, I hope DC picks up steam with their heroes and gets a flash movie out and a Batman flick or 2.. cyborg.. hell yes

Well there was supposed to be a movie before Steel to help lead into that spinoff, but development Hell is real... If only they had known that movie would make less at the box office than Shaq made on the court

Yeah. I'm kind of glad he just sticks to pimping icy hot and the general auto insurance. That was also a time when nobody gave a fuck about super hero movies other than the fringe audience who were also into comics. Now they gross 2 billion dollars in a hurry. It's the GPD of many countries.. unbelievable.
