CHEDDAR SUCKS AND YOU KNOW IT.
American legislation is silly. I believe French goat cheese kills less people than the salmonella-to-go AKA McDonalds. and I mean, this MUURICA. You can have 10 assault rifles and a case of handgrenades but no cheese? You people should defect to Cuba, this ain't no way to live.

Sorry but English cheese is kinda like French rock music. John Lenin agrees.

I'll take a nice 7 year aged cheddar any day. Never had French cheese but I doubt it blows the cheeses I've had here away to the point where I'd think they suck. Hope I can try some some day though!

Yeah our laws are weird and fucked up. But ya know, we need protection from government tyranny!

Dude it's just the way it tastes it's awesome.

And don't believe all the shit I say when the Napoleon in me is surfacing.
There are plenty non French good cheeses. I'd damn myself for a slice of parmigiano. Swiss gruyère is heaven. And i put cheddar in my hamburgers. But don't tell anyone. I'm no guillotine material.

A cheese tour of France would fill your tummy for a year. So Europe might be a bit heavy if you want to thorough...

But a nice plate to get your started would consist of:
- Comté
- Selles sur Cher
- Tome de savoie
- Camembert au lait cru
- Buche de chèvre
- Roquefort
- Ossau Iraty
- Beaufort
- Curé nantais

9 cheeses to get to the basics.

I will save this list. I also think you underestimate how much cheese I can eat. When I was still in college I ate a pound of shitty cheddar for dinner once

Excellent list. Eat all these cheeses. Now I need to find a shop in dang England where I can buy them all. Or go on holiday to France.

For the record Spanish cheese is the best.
French cheese is often great, and there are some really nice English cheeses too.

Avoid swedish cheese.

That said, there are some really nice local artisanal varieties being produced here.
