lol. when that whole Luck Duck Snafu thing was going on i got a pm from a TGP lawyer explaining why none of my expectations in being properly taken care of where legally things Luck Duck had to do. and how he was a hobby builder, and ALWAYS surprised no-one asks him if no refunds.

it was... long. and kinda self-indulgent. but at least he was polite and not a total douche.

Ahh man, he's just nerding out, maybe a bit to obsessively, but seems harmless. We discuss capacitor values and shit in fuzz pedals, it's just what he's honed in on. I geek out a bit too on the specifics. Not that much, I've never measured a pickup, but I can see where the dude is coming from. It's using science to predict the probable tonal outcome. When I busted up my kneecap into 12 pieces and was stuck on the couch for six months I GEEKED out bigtime. I needed a mental out cause I was physically limited so the mind wandered, I learned a lot, and my sound is better for it. Now I can limp around and I have better thing to do than discuss the details of paper in oil capacitor construction and the history thereof but it kept me occupied for a time

Many of those same people will lowball you 50% or more.

But yeah what you describe is straight out of the corporate world. It's a scummy sales tactic.
Advertise and tempt you with the low price, but bury fees in the fine print.
Reminds me of Informercial formula with "order now and we'll double the offer, just pay extra processing and handling!"
Processing and handling is what the employees are being paid to do, and the cost of doing business.
Such provisions were traditionally factored in to the advertised price, not treated as some sort of premium service.

"Here's my $350 pedal that I'm offering for $300!...plus shipping and 3%""

:crabl:
