well, yeah, she did. you're the one turning this into a trans rights issue, not that other person.
They posted it and then said that she is falling apart at the seams. Thats the part that concerns me. If being proud of your body and trying to make money is falling apart at the seams then what the fuck is normal?
You did notice she said she was extremely suicidal? and severe social anxiety? and how she couldn't move on b/c of body image issues?
The selfies isn't a problem in itself, but it is part of a larger pattern of attention seeking and self-image issues. She talked about it even on ilovefuzz, about having delusions of e-celebrity. It really looks like a pretty dangerous pattern that get's repeated I'm gonna focus on games-->People who don't deserve it are getting attention--> look at me --> I'm depressed because of my situations --> I feel like my life is at an end
Yeah, getting suicidal seems a lot like coming apart at the seams

It's probably even harder when you're on hormone therapy. That's not me being transphobic, just saying the truth.
I've taken test booster (you know, for the gainz) and those made me fucking crazy, I can't image a clinical dosage of something that alters the way your body reacts to literally everything.
Now that doesn't excuse the situation, but it can explain a LOT of why she would seem unstable. Hormones fuck your ass up yo.
I feel bad for all involved in this.
"I do not have the ability to think rationally 90% of the time and I also change my mind at the drop of a hat".
Amen to that. I'll be glad when (IF!) everyone gets their money back/pedals so maybe we can stop rehashing this over and over because it's a downer. I'm just glad the fuzz lives on.

Well here's a fundamental problem with crowdfunding:
Funding a kickstarter/indiegogo is not an investment. It's speculation, or in less polite terms, gambling. There's nothing real in the way of backer protection. She really didn't have to do anything in regards to refunds once she came forward and said "OH by the way $20k went to the IRS sorry." Cause you didn't make an investment, you basically just bet on the wrong horse.

There's a hugely disproportionate number of transgendered people with depression and the like (nevermind suicide rate), in large part due to the "shaming" others give you while growing up feeling like you're not the gender you were assigned at birth, among other reasons. There's a lot of emotional stress in standing up to a society that makes you feel shitty for identifying as something different.

yeah, or if not in crowdfunding itself, at least in the way it's implemented these days with no bonding and almost no vetting (and kickstarter et al stays far away from that to shield themselves from liability). I mean, legally, contractually sure the investee is supposed to offer refunds - but we're seeing how well THAT plays out. we're starting to see lawsuits around that stuff now
This one is an extra dark back-eye on crowdfunding because only something like half the investor's money actually went into the project so it's not like the project just failed under honest totally circumstances
Maybe some other sort of micro/crowd finance will come up and take kickstarter's place...but I think it'll be while if ever
