Still using this. Although, when I feel lazy, I just soap up my face with Dr. Bronner's. Not so great for shaving, doesn't really lather that well, but it works.
I've aslo got a tin of this, which I haven't tried yet. I keep meaning to start shaving with a brush again, but just haven't.

Yeah, the stuff in the green tube is made by Proraso. I'm not crazy about it, but it works well enough. The problem I have with it is that I have a partial beard and after shaving it's sorta difficult to wash the remaining stuff outta my beard. I'd also like to try something new. Not sure what.
I've used the Speick stuff before & I'll probably again, but it's not good in the summer. The heat of the summer makes it too hard (TWSS) to use.
I don't use a boar or badger brush. I've got a vegan brush from The Body Shop®. It does OK.

Shaving with a brush most times seems like such a grand production. Not really that into it. Also usually not looking for a super close shave. So, hands'll do the trick. Some vigorous rubbing and whatnot gets my facial hairs standing up at attention.

I've been shaving my head (and the beardy bits I don't want to grow) without soap and opting for macadamia oil instead for a couple of weeks now. Works pretty damn good and is cheap.
I think I need a new feather razor though. Was thinking of going for a merkur maybe...but I quite like my feather.
Anyone got any other recommendations?
(I don't use it on my head. I stick to Schick multiblades for that job)

Safety, double edge dealy. Wrist slitters.
I've wanted a straight for years (I have a couple, but they need to be honed back from the dead, can't find a barber to do it and I don't think I have the skills).
I love feather blades, but my handle dealy recently crapped out on me. Plastic winders all fucked out, don't thread properly.
Syl, oil takes some getting used to, but if you shave every other day or so, its really good for your skin and you don't get much hassle.
Just gotta keep that blade free and clean. The oily stubble jams it up.
