More carbs. More exercise. More working out. More fun.
BTW, those $20 pullup bars they have at ross, walmart, etc are a great investment.

Hi guys,
Sorry I didn't post that much here lately..
Yeah.. swimming sadly is no longer an option because we only have a lake nearby.. and it's getting cooooold...
As far as weight on my knee goes- there is no problem with that. the only problem I have is with repeated movements like swimming or running.
And I'm starting a diet. Soo.. GO HEALTH!!

Aside from that, you can do plenty of weight based upper body exercises using a bench (I strongly advise using a bench as opposed to standing positions, to prevent the added weight from putting more stress on your knee). You can even do cardio type exercises using only your upper body and a medicine ball (anywhere from 8-15 lbs would be a good starting point depending on your fitness level).
And - of course - diet.

Re: The Health, Wellness, weight loss and general fitness th
Finally starting to really move with my muscle gains.
Current weight: 181.5
That's more than 10 lbs up since August with no change in waist size. I want to eventually cut 1 inch from my waist, and get better lower abdominal tone (currently flat, but only my upper to middle abdominals have any real definition).
Also, if anyone is interested, bodybuilding.com has a deal right now - one of the free "samples" you can add to your order is a book called Body By Design. I just received mine yesterday with my order of vitamins, creatine, and bcaas. Haven't read any of it yet, but it looks like it could be decent. Can't go wrong with free. http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/bbcom ... esign.html

Pullups are great. I don't trust any of the door frames in my place to hold the weight though. The best "home gym" I have found is just a mat (a yoga mat or padded mat will do), a bench (preferably with adjustable incline), and a pair of 20 pound dumbbells. Eventually you'd move up, but two 20 pound weights can keep you busy for months.

Hows everyone doing?
I am up about 3 pounds which sucks.
But basketball is started so I should drop it pretty quickly.

I need to remember to eat more. This whole "sleeping till 1 pm" thing is causing me to lose too much weight.

I still smoke...however,I'm down to 200 from 215. I think for my height, a lean 175 is about where I wanna be. Ways to go still. Also,is anyone into meditation at all? Or is that kinda too hokey for y'all?

Re: The Health, Wellness, weight loss and general fitness th
I don't think there is anything hokey about meditation, but I'm from CA. Slowing down and deliberately relaxing seems pretty sane to me.
I have stopped working out, but I have stayed pretty active. Weight has frozen at around 220. I still eat well. Lots of whole foods. Drink mainly water. and I stay on top of my sleep. However, I am going to have to implement at least 3 workouts a week, if I am going to continue on my weight loss/tone up goal. I would really like to be around 180.

Since the start of this thread I've lost over 10 lbs. I'm 6' and weigh just under 160 and I feel pretty good about that. I was actually a little worried that I'd started putting weight back on. There has been lots of holiday and obsessive studying snacking. I had a fall feast and celebrated both American and Canadian thanksgivings as well. But I guess I've been managing to balance it out in my diet.

Dude,
Nice work
I have actually been hovering around my start weight but I fell pretty good so I guess that is something.

I used to do it a lot. I don't any more, or at least not undividedly - but I'm kind of in a semi-meditative mindset at all times now.
I missed a week or so of working out recently, but now I'm back at it even harder. I've been working out a lot - and then throwing additional sets in between pretty much any other task. About to go to work? Do a set of curls. About to play a game? Do some pushups. It's a commercial? Do a set of tricep presses. Etc.
