It's really cool because we didn't have our old "greats" (Rinne, Selänne, Jokinen, S. Koivu, Kiprusoff) and the team had a lot of world cup first-timers and people who haven't been discovered by NHL or KHL (Russian equivalent of NHL)
By the way, in case you've never seen a KHL match you definitely should check it out! Compared to NHL, it's so so so much more aggressive - and I don't mean that it has more fights or anything. The goalies there have to be really amazing, and the matches have this breathtaking high tempo all the time.
I gotta go and drink and yell a lot now, I have about 8 hrs time to celebrate before work starts

The Caunucks looked just awesome tonight, the Sharks had no answer to the Sedin line. I'm drunk and happy, Eager took so many bad penalties that I've got to think that his series is done. From watching the Tampa-Boston series and the absolute lack of defensive awarenes, whoever wins the West is going to win the Cup.

I think the west is stronger this year. Must be all that traveling.
It will be crazy if Vancouver and Tampa Bay meet up. Travel will have to be from one "corner" of the continent to the other.

Canucks are into the final, seventeen years to the day since the last time. I'm not only drunk but happy as fuck. Hopefully this time we can actually win a cup.

Should be a good Goaltender battle in the Finals,
Rooting the Canuckleheads. Mainly because I don't believe they've ever won an SC.

No they haven't, but the Bruins last won basically right when the Canucks were an expansion team. 7 years before I was born. I want to see a fucking cup.

It's official, the Thrashers are moving to Winnipeg. I'm pretty stoked about that, the Jets were one of my favourite teams when I was a kid, it'll be nice to have a second team to cheer for.
But what I'm really excited for is Game 1 of the finals tomorrow, it's been a long and painful wait since the conference finals ended. And I'm going to the game tomorrow, should be a great experience, I've never had the chance to go to a game in the finals before. GO CANUCKS GO!
