Can't wait to get off work and give this a listen. Loved the last album and the live show was powerful stuff. It made me feel like a melting vhs tape.

This album express hope in a way I've never experience before. Almost makes you feel ecstatic like a teenager in love.

Last time I listened to Godspeed stoned was when I saw them live. My friend and I both had panic attacks I spent half the show outside and him in the bathroom.

And I think that's why I'm vaguely disappointed whenever I listen to it. It's too - something - light, airy, hopefully, reaching, dunno.
Based on the pre-promotion, I think I was
hoping for expecting the opposite. Heavy, burn it all down, corpses cinders and ashes.
One of the better records of the year, sure. But definitely not the high point of their catalog.

They're headlining roadburn this year so stoned GYbE is a high probability for me.

Saw 'em in Brighton last night. 4th time and they just never cease to blow me away.
So I had this niggling feeling that the production on the new album is a bit flat and muddy - the music's there but the dynamics just don't seem to be. It sounds like the whole album's been run through a Tubescreamer with that mid-range hump. But it all sounds fucking immense live! Anthem For No State really was world-ending, and they played the two shorter tracks back-to-back which made them feel more like one piece that had been split in two. Then they ended with Blaise Bailey Finnegan and it was just fucking brutal.
