well ... turns out my bino order was fulfilled! Got 'em today ... sun looks awesome through them; it looks like a solid-surfaced moon with spooky clouds flowing in front of them ...

my town's in the 93% coverage range, but I'm pulling my youngest from school and we're going to head to columbia, sc for the full show. maybe to the state park on lake murray.
supposed to be super crowded everywhere.

We has a new new plan.
Got 3 days off, gonna spend 2 nights camping in Cherokee National Forest, which is north of Asheville, NC. From there we can just drive to the zone, like in a field or whatever if places are too crowded.
