I grew rather privileged and had cable since I knew what tv was. When satellite T.V. was the hot thing my dad got that too. We as a family watched a ton of MASH, the Simpsons, History and Discovery channel and sometimes Speed because my dad and I could bond over cars of all types.

My Mum though was a big believer in music and radio. With her, we watched a lot of Much Music which meant Beavis and Butthead and tons of Canadiana and some edgy for the 90's groups.
