It was definitely in the same vein as No Country. I thought the acting was pretty tip top—I generally love Ben Foster in everything.

EDIT: also saw Moonlight last week. Unbelievably good. It surprised me in a lot of ways, kind of kept me on my toes in terms of what to expect. Very strong acting, plus the cinematography and lighting were beautiful.

It was okay? Apparently not super memorable because I don't remember anything.

But John Wick is awesome if anyone wants just a good action movie.

I've been eyeing of those 15 Disk Extended Editions of The Lord Of The Rings for ages now. It's just so much money.

Last movie I saw in a theater is the non-3d Hugo, one worthy of consideration as being great, aesthetically if nothing else. The story and characters have their charm and the aspect of fictional biography in historical context kept me interested. One of the last great original things to come out of hollywood.
That was 5 years ago :whoa:
It was the first movie I'd seen in many many years, with my dad, where it was just us 2 together :)*
[B/S/T shoutouts] Shortlist: Hollow Earth|Ct5|856|Condor|Thermae|OP-1|half track reel2reel|Prophet6 ... :whoa:

I was simply enjoying Hugo when suddenly it went from being really entertaining to this very amazing deep piece of film, I left the theater almost crying and smiling.

Money well spent. If you're a nerd for the behind-the-scenes/filmmaking stuff and for LotR, there's almost no better purchase. My wife and I watch all of the content almost every winter and love it every time. Swordsmiths, insane set design, great anecdotes, unreal costuming, &c. Oh and the movies are rad, too.
vidret wrote:Huh.

Might watch Hugo then. I never got around to it.
Yeah Hugo is pretty breathtaking.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.
