while neither, eqd's speaker cranker has so far sounded good with any fuzz i've paired it with. gives a nice little oompf.

Splinter question: what's a fair price for a HM-2? Was just looking on verb/bay and they're priced higher than I would've guessed.

Should be about 75-100€ maybe. In Sweden they're 150€

Really? I am intrigued, tell me more.
Gain on zero, it's still a bit dirty, but has massive volume on tap and a rad asf EQ
I dunno about massive. Even running at 12v my HM-2 is pretty quiet on all settings.
Do you have the made in taiwan version? I've heard the only difference is amount of available volume. Mine def has more than enough

Around here...75 - 90 for the MIT version, 100-125 for a MIJ one. Euro that is, though atm $1 is nearly the same as 1Euro.

I have been using a Soul Food after my fuzzies recently and tweaking the treble knob to get different tones. It gives some much needed mids when needed. I am definitely planning on getting a better KLON clone though because my soul food already has a busted volume pot.

Other than that an EQ pedal would be sick too, I used my Dr. Scientist Elements with cranked mids to make some gnarly sounding fuzz after a big muff or similar scooped fuzz.
