You're much more likely to suffer a dehabilitating injury from skiing (way more torsional pressure on each knee/ankle,etc. when they're not connected to each other), and there's nothing inherent to riding that would make you have to retire from it before skiing.

That is a stiff fucking boot for a very soft board.

I used to ride a long stiff racing-type board. I can't get used to softer boots. Feels like my ankles could pop out of their sockets.

YES! Just finished loading the roof box for tomorrow!
After 2 seasons of slowly, carefully luring my kids in to snowboarding by tricking them into thinking we were at the hill for them and their lessons - and that it's "theirs" (I basically held back on riding until the end of the season, last year) - LOL... our whole family is off to Mont Tremblant in Quebec for our first family snowboard trip! I've been dreaming and hoping for this trip since the kids were born, hahahaha. Needless to say, I'm STOKED! Looks like more than half of Tremblant's runs are open and the weather is gonna be awesome.

I ride a somewhat older Capita Black Snowboard of Death

Absolutely love it, but it's reaching the end of it's life. Got a few serious dents, chips, scratches, and a bit of a delam on one of the noses. I'll probably pick up a new board at the end of this season.

Snowboarding around Ontario is pretty lame though. The biggest hill near me takes longer to get up than it does to ride down. We really need to take a trip out to Quebec sometime soon too

I haven't done this in years and really miss it. My old board probably doesn't even work for me anymore since I've grown from 15 years old. Mount Hood in Oregon is a damn fine mountain though.

BSOD are rad. A little stiff for my liking, though.

I still haven't managed to get out this year either :(. Hopefully going to fight off the christmas hordes and pretend I'm still a local instead of a dirty weekend warrior on Sunday, though.
