Wizard has no noise issues in a synth setup for me (but I like em noisy I couldn't get it to work for me on guitar (has some incredibly cool guitar sounds but I would never keep it on a board), but on synth, MAN.

Timebender is a great rec for this sort of stuff. If I was more into synth/noise at the time I had a timebender I probably wouldn't have sold it...

You also want to get your hands on (cheap, because they are) Digitech RDS rack delay. LFO and delay time are non-destructive to the sample+hold, and absolutely glorious for synth.
