Worth noting that I have never done a drug or had a drink in my life.

People always hear 'Thailand,' though. No one visits Taiwan. So it's basically the same thing.

Nothing like this has ever happened to me.

But good for you, or whatever.

I'm still confused as to why the OP got in trouble for having a bottle or two at work. Is that a law somewhere? I walk with another person to pick up cases of beer and wine on Fridays, and almost everyone at my office has walked to the dispensary at lunch at some point and had a pile of weed on their desk. Literally came out of some meetings one afternoon and it smelled like a parking lot at a Dead show with less patchouli.

I'd be surprised if places were kosher about weed now, still imagine that'd be taboo in some way.

The majority of people in my office have bottles of some liquor/wine somewhere though.

Every time I pull this bad boy out of the garage, it's a brush with the law.

The day I picked it up, I crossed six radar traps on a 25 mile stretch of highway home. Cruise control set at 65, all the way.

Once went drunk night-walking because *emotions* for whatever reason. Had a few bottle of that dirt cheap £3 wine in each pocket of my coat, got about 40 minutes out of my town and settled on a bench on the side of a mildly busy road. Tried to cry a bit, threw up instead, passed out, got woken up a few hours later by an ambulance; apparently someone drove past and thought I was dead so called them. They kept asking to drive me home but I was too drunk or too English to accept anything from them and insisted I could walk. Fell into one of them, which they interpreted as hostile, so called the police down.
Again, too drunk to really contest anything with the police, just kind of let them do their thing, went down to the station and passed out. Woke up the next day to a cup of tea and some of those prime economy chocolate digestives. They decided it wasn't worth writing up an arrest for being drunk and incapable and that "sleeping it off" was enough. Proceeded to watch the morning news with them, chat a bit and then head home. Wasn't anywhere near as interesting as Jwar or fucking Taiwan, but I always use that story for an example of the joys of English police and how unfortunate it is that there are people in the cool-guy nations who actually have to be afraid of their police.

I live in bumfuck East TN, you can have one less open container in the car then there are folks in the car, but you can't walk out of a gas station/grocery stores with an exposed can without bein cited. Most of the police I've met have been pretty chill, but the ones in my area tend to harass people for very minor things. My evidence being pulled over literally 6 times in July, having maybe 5 beers between those collected 6 times. I'm a responsible adult, who drinks to excess alone at home. Twice for wrong colored tape (both with the clear red tape I was told to buy from autozone), once for busted back suspension, once for not going fast enough (the high beams on as the sheriff's rode on my ass were fucking with my eyes hardcore [have myadriasis] after driving back from my neurotic double checking of the lock at my work place), once for not having lights around my license plate (not a law in my area for those without factory installed lights), and once because I was speeding (43 in a 40). I don't think they usually would have cared, but I clearly have a target on my ass.

We are in Oregon. No one is vaping at work, but we are pretty open about maintaining a personal inventory. I seriously can't believe that you can grow plants, eat edibles, etc now. Dispensaries are super informative, and not seedy. Should be legal everywhere.

I'm struggling to do multiple quotes on a mobile. Iommic Pope. Creative agency in Oregon. Always looking for talent.

OP, that sounds horrendous. I think I'd need to leave the state.
