I get 70 hours of PTO a year. I've only used one day's worth so far and am going to use another for the Minneapolis meet up. I'll need a few days for the thanksgiving holiday in November, but that means I need to take like five days off before the end of the year.
I was just talking to my boss about this today. I was joking that she's forcing me to take a vacation.

I'm technically unemployed but haven't had
a day off since October 2013. No benefits. No insurance. No boss. No consumer debt

Last time I got to get away on a "vacation" was independence day 2010. And that was for all of 36hours at a friend's beach house. I'm pretty much a basement dwelling loser at this point...minus the basement...plus way more responsibilities in the form of caring for an invalid adult dependent with minimal help. I enjoyed considerable *time off* and fam support in the previous decade so it's only right I persevere through the pendulum's backswing. This too shall pass.

I accrue 13 hours of PTO a month at my job I've worked for two years. Somehow I've found time to take 3 full weeks off to record an album and to go on two tours, and I still have something like 3 weeks PTO lying around. It's great because I'm taking a little vacation to Nashville for Labor Day, and then in October/November I plan to take off 8 consecutive work days so I can spend some serious quality time in the studio, and I'll still have over a week in my balance.
I work as a research tech for a state-funded university though, so my off time is probably more cushy than most here in the states.

Erm I think I win? I get 6 weeks PTO on top of all holidays...so, depending on where the holidays fall in the work week, I can do a little better than 8 weeks of 'PTO,' typically a little less than 8.
I started in March of this year, so longevity is not the issue.
(evil laughter)
EDIT: Looked it up: 248 hours of PTO plus holidays. So, more than 6 weeks plus holidays.
(resumes evil laughter)
