Yeah I had nightmares about that shit....but kept playing anyway.
Pretty funny that we probably all played those on free shareware floppies when we were 11 or 12 and then a few years later parents started freaking out about how violent video games got.

My bachelor paper is on Metro 2033 (the novel) and two other postapocalyptic works of fiction, focusing a lot on the enviroment and how it reflects on the wanderer and is a progressive criticism on the current state of society and political morale. I need to check out the games though. I bought the first one when it came out, but it was too buggy to really be playable.Brandsmannen wrote:Off topic but I love the metro games!!! I just bought Metro and its sequel Redux on Steam for like $8 to keep me preoccupied until I can afford this bitch.
So, I'm looking forward to much stressed and panicked shooting in the dark.
Also, that cyberdemon WAS TITS.
Doom? Meh. Not my thing. I always liked the Quake series more.

The more academic time afforded to it the better. We may be able to save the Children of the Children of the Grave.

Dude Quake was the shit but Heretic and Hexen ruled them all, well that and Duke Nuke Em. Hexen was by far my favorite.
Doom is some nostalgia shit and I love it. The last one was really good and beat the piss out of it. It made me jump like a little school girl.
I remember a few years back I downloaded Doom and Wolfenstein on my phone and beat the piss out of those again. It was so much fucking fun. I'd still play that shit. It's funny how it's kind of lame now, but still fun!
Also, I corrected your misspelled words.

Re: DOOM!!!
Haha I forgot this thread was here. I posted in the other.
Played for a few hours last night and love it! It's definitely not scary and seems like a kick back to the old ones, which is killer. I love how graphic it is too.
My only gripe is I want a light so I can explore more. Do you get one somewhere in the game? Like a mod on a gun or something?
Overall it's fucking amazing! Glad I bought it!
