that is awesome.bigchiefbc wrote:Oh I also forgot to mention that I grew my own hop vines for about 5 years. 8 vines, 4 different varieties. But they didn't grow well because I didn't have a trellis that was tall enough for them, hops like to grow to 25-30 feet. I ended up digging up the rhizomes and giving them to a friend of mine who has a trellis already set up to handle those kinds of heights.

asparagus! i've gotta look into that...aens_wife wrote:YES! I have a pretty big garden and I generally grow a few rows of green beans, peas, asparagus, kale, potatoes, peppers, spinach, tomatoes, zucchini and eggplant. I also have a raised bed of strawberries, 2 of raspberries and a few blueberry plants. Then I have a herb garden and a bunch of flowers in the front.
It is my favorite thing every year. Since we are in Wisconsin, I haven't really started to grow much yet. Just my asparagus and rhubarb so far. I'll get peas in this weekend!
though i hate the attack of asparagus piss.

This thread makes me want to get married and just make a garden. I hate all of you people and your happy lives.

It adds to my imagination of a wonderful married life of no kids and growing shit.
I also live in an apartment complex that offers no space to do something like this which is the real problem.

just DO NOT accidentally rub your eye! it burned viciously for about 40min.
wearing gloves reminds me not to do such, and i can throw them away after.
also, man, remember fresh is SO much spicier than the grocery.

Asparagus is actually kind of a pain to get started. I planted mine years ago and am just now able to eat some of it. Once it gets going though, it is super easy.space6oy wrote: asparagus! i've gotta look into that...
