There are a tonne of rad musical stylings that utilise fuzz and are still rad.
I don't hate MBV, I respect their body of work and what not, but we're all here to worship fuzz, we should be open minded and respect difference and let things be is what they is.
Like, someone in an FZ2 thread said they hated Electric Wizard the other day and that blew my fucking mind.
At first my blood boiled, then the confusion set in, and then I remembered that this was ILF and I was being a dick by assuming there were certainties in this universe....like EW are the go to band for FZ2 fans. Or vice versa.
So yeah basically, there's a lot more going on than 95% shoe gaze, 4%UG gear demos and 1% doom bros.

haha, IP, I know shoegaze is not the only genre with effects and that fuzz was not invented in the '80s! Just a bit of exaggeration/agitation there, bud.
Actually I don't even like Electric Wizard or most shitgaze bands, and much of the music I listen to uses little or no fuzz at all. But I still love those lil' boxes.

Just chiming in to suggest that maybe your ears are broken! Nah, JK, to each their own, but to me listening to Loveless is an out of body experience. When I'm in the mood for it, about once or twice a year. I put on the record and it's basically astral projection from thereon out
