Hateful 8 actually fits this in a way... but I hated it so there is that.

I just watched something that is exactly what the OP is asking for but I can't remember what it was called or anything about it for some reason.

Hateful 8 was interesting. It had turned me into my mom by the end, during the hanging I was just grimacing and thinking "mmm, this is a bit much."

It seems Tarantino feels the need to top himself every movie as far as violence and brutality goes these days. Which is cool in a way, always interesting to see what he does next, but the movies aren't really better for it.

Speaking of Tarantino, while not surprise antagonists, the Basterds were marauding thugs who had virtually no impact on the story/ending, which I didn't expect during the movie.
