Ugh, fuck yes.
I had erased that period from my memory.

I'm sure Jet and Wolfmother will one day be seen as very influential to a new wave of innovative musical thinking within a familiar contextual framework of Australian guitar rock.

...already happening here. No fucking joke. I mean it's from a group of grown men who legitimately think 'rap is keeping real music off the airwaves' in tyol 2016 but hey.

I feel like those are the same kind of people who felt betrayed when they 'found out' about Rob Halford and Freddie Mercury.

No those are mostly bogan metal heads living in the far western suburbs.
These are douchebags are all hosting community radio shows that try and play same shit programmed on triple j, study law or some middle of the road shit like economics, and don't see the point of punk or music in general that doesn't make any money.
Like, why do it if you aren't gonna be the biggest rock star ever?
In fact, start acting like that now. It's all in the attitude and how you project, man.
I smoked a joint once.
I know my shit.

actually I'm thinking of a certain dinosaur who runs a certain ROCK AND METAL bar in a certain lane in a certain capital city so D.O.S is pretty on the mark.

My friend and bandmate once did a huge shit in the toilets of said bar that apparently smelled so bad when members of Jet came in to do coke they immediately walked out in disgust.

Jet ripped off You Am I as hard as they could until bigwig producers moved them on to apeing more obvious classic rock acts.

Dase wins the best story about turds in rock award.
Also I must be ignorant because I can't figure out the bar or the person in question.
I give not two fucks about promoters and other such pondscum, though.

I didn't even know about Iron Maiden until I downloaded Powerslave from Kazaa when I was 12.

I'm still pretty bitter about not being able to find cool non Aussie music untill I had income or decent internet.

I always regret asking these questions before I go to sleep because I know one of the west coast/international folks are going to answer it.

Also that sounds exactly like the nascent bands of every evil careerist "wants to be in a band and have Rolling Stone love them" fascist I ever knew or met back in the day. Gross.
