In terms of stuff that I make for myself, I have the same thing almost every day during the week - some kind of veggies with gently-over-medium eggs on top (whites totally firm, yolk still runny). The devil's in the details, of course - this summer, I kept coming back to finely-chopped zucchini and occasionally some arugula for the veg. This fall has been all about steam-microwaved diced sweet potatoes and parsnips. Salt & pepper to taste (I've found a seasoned salt I really dig), and hot sauce as needed.

I've started peeling and dicing all of my sweet taters and parsnips ahead of time and freezing them with a little chopped garlic - cuts way down on prep time in the morning, and tastes super rad.

On the weekends, I'll often either do French Toast with an egg on top or a weird crunchy tortilla with baked-in hot sauce + eggs thing.

ONCE IN A WHILE, I'll go totally crazy and have peanut butter mixed with maple syrup on toast. No eggs, even! Dessert for breakfast!

Definitely always coffee. I don't leave the house with at least a LARGE cup in me - I've been doing cold-brew for a while now, and really love it. And if I can scam some bacon without cooking it myself, I will (somehow, I always make a horrible burned-on mess with bacon).

I love just about all breakfast mainly cause I only get to eat it on a sunday. everything during the week is protien shakes before I workout and on sat. I normally just skip it or just have something to drink because i'm off to go do some yard work and go record some music.

But anything I do get I want a side of bacon with it. hell if it's just a huge plate of crispy bacon I'm happy with that for breakfast.

Yes.

In Spook Country, William Gibson lovingly describes a restaurant in which the bacon is ironed perfectly flat, as the platonic ideal of crispy bacon. I want to find that place and go for breakfast someday.

"Breakfast" for me is anything with eggs in it now. Best breakfast for me is diced bacon, potatoes, mushrooms, mirepoix, whatever is a veggie thrown in for colour, kale and spinach, sauteed together with a sunny side up on top. I dislike making a fancy breakfast for myself now, but I like making proper hollandaise and serving it with a steamed salmon filet.

For me though, the difference between the first meal of the day and supper is how long you've been awake for.

It's interesting.
I love cooking my own breakfast but on occasions find myself too lazy to make it.

Lately: Rice Krispies with almond milk. Or Frosted Flakes or Frosted Shredded Wheat.

Usually: Two eggs over easy on a slice of wheat toast with a slice of sharp cheddar. I don't usually keep bacon/sausage in the house. On occasions there's turkey bacon.

When I'm feeling saucy I go HAM on waffles or french toast.

I'm also fortunate that I live within walking distance of a pretty good breakfast spot. Probably going there tomorrow, actually.

Always coffee. Always.

Breakfast food is my favorite food.

It's called the Westsider. There are several good spots in Grand Rapids, depending on your dietary needs.
My favorite breakfast dish is at a place called Cherie Inn. Fucking Grilled Steak Benedict. AKA GSB.

Nice steak, two poached eggs on some toast. Hollandaise. Mushrooms and spinach (if you ask).

When I hit up the Westisder I almost always get scrambled or poached eggs. Three strips of bacon. One Belgian Waffle. French Fries and Hollandaise (for the eggs and fries).
