In theory... I don't want to drag this thread down with negativity, I've just seen a few communities I dearly loved poisoned by outreach, no matter the intentions. It is a great cause and I wouldn't want to dissuade anyone from raising more money for it, I just don't want to see this place overrun with sweepstakers and Redditors who just did it for the prizes. Maybe after the raffle those of us who have ways to promote stuff (ig, fb, whatever) can say "hey, we just raised money for a good cause, give some too and be a good dude. "
I think keeping it in house is a good idea but at the same time getting more money to a good organisation seems noble.
