PS: Christ he sounds good live with HOF right now. So fucking chestpoundingly mighty but so much clarity
I thought it was the other way around? i saw a pic once when he was touring after getting the Blackstar endorsement that had a SLO sitting behind his cabs with the Blackstars sitting on top of them. Tried to google the pic but I couldn't find anything.

This. just use what you use and not try to hide it. Its about as lame as gaff tape covering logos on cabs.

That wasn't aimed at one person. I think it's pointless, unless you're on TV and have to have it blocked out for legal reasons.

I think the two are different. I'll explain. I think a fake endorsement is misleading and a bit unfair to your fans/ people into your tone or whatever. The idea is you're getting something from a company under the auspices that people will see you using their gear and might be more likely to buy it cause they like your sound. To put that gear on stage and then not even play through it seems dishonest to your own fans. I know it happens all the time and I'm not trying to single out Matt pike. I don't even know if it's true that he does it and I don't really care that much.

As far as covering or removing logos, I don't think its dishonest or anything. It's just removing the advertisement from a piece of gear that you are using. Honestly, some times when you have 5 or 6 cabs on stage and 3-5 heads, all with logos on the front, the stage setup can start to have a bit of a nascar feel, and I get why one might not want that, if you spend time thinking about how the stage setup looks as part of the show.

Full disclosure, I have tape over the logo on one cab. Here's why: it's a VHT cab that I bought totally stripped for really cheap. I put in new speakers, wiring, jacks, handles and casters. It's hardly really a VHT cab anymore. The logo is

A) huge

B)hard to remove

C) it looks like some ugly ass mister roboto shit. I hate it.

Just by coincidence all of our other cabs don't have logos. Not by our doing. The thing just stuck out like a sore thumb, so taped over it and haven't thought about it again.

I've always wanted to try out one of those Artisans. I love that he thinks the Pignose thing is pretty amusing. Didn't Josh Homme do something similar but remain all secretive and douchey about it?

So here's the thing: people can do what they want with their gear and probably don't really care if we think it's lame

Homme's relationship with gear has always been secretive and douche in nature.
