When I got my Bare Knuckle Flat 50 set, I wired it 4 way. Series all the way toward the headstock, then neck, parallel, and bridge. I highly recommend it. I don't find it difficult to navigate, but I also play a standard strat, so ymmv.

Second, this will give you tele look and tone, and leave you free to pick any pickup configuration, depending on the route. http://www.guitarfetish.com/Cutaway-Wil ... _1805.html
I have the same bridge, but the traditional non cutaway version, and like it a lot.
I really like that bridge. I think I'm gonna go for that one and then put another Alumitone single in the bridge. And I might just do the regular 4 way mod. The switching on my Bass VI took some finess to do quickly so this should be easy.

You won't be sorry. The bridges are solid, affordable, and any finish you want. Best part, it's top loading and through body, whigh was necessary for my tele, cause it's top loader only. I think Glendale probably makes a cutoff bridge similar, but I don't think his topload, and are way more expensive, and you gotta get saddles separate. For projects and experimenting, Wilkinson is totally the way to go.

And try the 4 way switch. It's a noninvasive mod, so if it isn't for you, go back to a three way, and add a toggle or pull pot for the series option.

This sounds slightly similar to something I did

Kunkle neck (stupid block stickers), Warmoth body with stain and tru oil, Nocaster bridge pup and Mean 90 neck. I miss that guitar and regret selling it every day. :picard:

Well, Saylor seems pissed at me so I'm going to go a different route i guess. Warmoth maybe. I dunno. Pretty discouraged right now. I don't think he's gonna make my body anytime soon.

He sent me an invoice about a week ago and I told him it would be the 2nd or 3rd before I could pay. I emailed him yesterday because I wanted to change the routing before I paid and I wanted to make sure the price was the same. Today I noticed he cancelled the invoice and when I asked him about it, I got this:
I am a one man shop and get dozens of inquiries a week, some resulting in orders. My time is precious. I don’t memorize every discussion.
I will be working through paid and new orders. If you are still interested, when I get time, I’ll look back through all of this and see if I can make sense of it.
So...

Maybe he's having a bad night? He wasn't mad till I tried to pay him! He was awesome until this point. He was fine talking about routing options and wood and all that. I dont know. I told him sorry for the inconvenience and just let me know if he still wants to do it.

Yeah, might just be overwhelmed with orders, and if so, awesome for him!

I've got a D&B baritone conversion neck (made by andrewdoeshair on OSG if that means anything to you)... I was gonna finish it and put it on a bastard Tele build but I'm leaning toward going standard scale. If you haven't wrapped up a Kunkle and it's something you might be interested in, lemme know! Mostly just looking forward to seeing this all come together! :joy:

^^^ getting that neck :!!!:

I wonder if this body would be more trouble than its worth. There aren't any contours and the holes in the back look crooked.

It looks cool though! And it's unfinished so I can put something on there to darken that stain up.

Orrrrrr I might just get a regular jazzmaster body and try Saylor again around tax time.

Okay! Things are moving along now. I got a body ordered. I decided to go with a different custom body service. Cochlea guitars, who I found on Reverb. He's carving, routing, finishing the body, and cutting a pickguard, all for a really reasonable price. I decided to get him to stain it this time. I'll stain the next one I make.

I also have a neck and tuners secured which I will be paying for shortly.

I'm pretty sure I'm going with Alumitones for the bridge and neck, but I also really like BLK TRI pickups from what I've heard, and the guy that runs it is a total breaux. Either way though, I got a single coil rout for the neck and a humbucker for the bridge. It'll be a couple weeks before the body is done. I'm going with a Thurston Moore inspired dark green stain.
