I have a flanger which has some hints of purple, and it's very fine indeed.Chankgeez wrote:If it's purple, it better be a flanger.sylnau wrote:

So after chorus/vibrato, phasing, tremolo, comes the flanger. Logical next step. Awesome, too, but the real question is: WHAT'S NEXT? As all 'obvious' types of modulation have now been covered by Joel the genius; I look forward to seeing what he will apply his digital brains with analog hearts to now.
This is very possibly a Strymon Orbit killer, depending on the full feature set.

If this analog flanger is an indication of Joel having bought a stockpile of BBD chips, then yeah, tap tempo analog delays with presets and tap divisions may very well be in our future. Which, yayrustywire wrote: Cross fingers for analog delay/looper.

I wonder how many BBD's he'd be able to stuff in such a small enclosure... And if he'd include ins/outs for delay line effects send 'n' return... He might have to bend space/time to fit all of that in his current enclosure size, but if anyone in the pedal building world is capable of such things, it's probably Joel.

Re: Chase Bliss mysterious purple pedal
No doubt this will be amazing. Joel is a genius. If he eventually makes an analog delay with the tap tempo stuff and a million squiggly little flip switches and dials that make it sound like you are losing control of your guitar and your life in the greatest possible way, quite a few pedal guys will just have to round up all their tired old gear and go home. Except Industrialectric, of course.

Whenever he does release a delay, I hope it has ample delay time (at least 1000 ms), instead of the typical 550-600 ms.
