I looked through all the new stuff I heard this year (new albums I mean) and they were all from 2014, haha. Word travels slow here in nostalgia world.

Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp A Butterfly
Sufjan Stevens - Carrie & Lowell

ALSO PRETTY DECENT... MAYBE STAYING POWER, MAYBE NOT, WHO KNOWS

Death Grips - Jenny Death
Björk - Vulnicura
Earl Sweatshirt - I Don't Like Shit, I Don't Go Outside

SO BAD, IT MAKES ME WANT TO VOMIT UP EVERYTHING IN MY STOMACH AND THEN JUST KEEP DRY-HEAVING IN FETAL POSITION FOR HOURS UNTIL MY THROAT BLEEDS

Mumford & Sons - Wilder Mind
Refused - Freedom

HAVEN'T LISTENED TO THESE ALBUMS BY ARTISTS I LIKE YET BUT IN THEORY WOULD LIKE THEM

Dan Mangan - Club Meds
Punch Brothers - The Phosphorescent Blues
Waxahatchee - Ivy Tripp
This is the first Sufjan record that's stuck for me. Superb stuff.
Whatever Ty Segall does next...
Any Moon Duo fans out there?

I'm currently in one of those reclusive phases; mostly insulating myself from new musical influence...not checking for new music while trying to develop my own stuff...already too easily distracted.
Then I'll play catchup...some months, even years later :hobbes:

Instant favorites:
Aphex Twin - Computer controlled acoustic instruments pt 2
Bedhead - Live 1998
Earl Sweatshirt - I don't like shit, I don't go outside

Ultimately disappointing, yet sprinkled with some shining moments:
Swervedriver - I wasn't born to lose you
Modest Mouse - Strangers to ourselves

Swervedriver is still the fucking coolest. Saw them in Chicago recently, and enjoyed it immensely!

new Pig Heart Transplant is my favourite record all year so far still. Waiting on Ken Mode and Fight Amp in the mail, expecting them to slay.

They're pretty good. Enjoyed that live album with a drummer they put out earlier this year.

Jaga Jazzist - Starfire is great.
New Godspeed was cool.
Lightning Bolt as well.
Enjoyed the latest And So I Watch You From Afar.
The Sleater-Kinney comeback was nice, though not essential listening or anything.
Enjoy Loqtos record quite a bit.
Metz II.

Feels like I've missed alot of cool albums this year, will need to go through this thread.

Moon Duo is related to Wooden Ships with extra letters, right?
