A scientist has approached me because he wants to run some tests to delineate the unusual activity in the glitch centers of my brain relative to the mode.

Way cool, Dino! There's all sorts of possibilities in there indeed...

Awesome demo, thanks for showing what it's capable of.

Hey, didn't the v.1 have an 8-bit looper function as well?

If it had an 8-bit looper this thing would have been over-the-top awesome. I ended up with this because of bidding on Lastgasp stuff that went nowhere...figured I would give this a try with all the money tied up over there instead of loosing on paypal's bad exchange rates (who care's why right?)...it arrived after about 5 weeks of waiting (I let it sit in the warehouse for a while...waiting for something else cool to pop up and combine shipping).

Anyway. This thing is a pretty good little box. It can get glitchy and goofy but it is really responsive and a blast! The stutter is a lot like the raptio but less lofi and no hold mode (just stutter). The pitch-shift is a blast and great for punching in and out of riffs (all momentary). Playing notes over the stutter effect in mix can create some really nice rhythmic effects and the up/down can be tapped quickly for like a resample sounding thing that creates some weird and glitchy sequences.

It is a lot like the raptio but a heck of a lot cleaner. They both have their own unique charms though and I wouldn't prefer one over the other. The judder is a much different beast and is capable of a ton more I think because of depth of controls (even though being completely different takes on a similar concept). I think I still prefer the hold delays on the DD-6 and DD-5 but this thing is a blast.

Digi2t's demo is better than anything I could do.

Nice! I really like the way this sounds in demos, but I'm glitch-easy. It seems like "expression control" over pitch shift is well implemented here.

lg--have you ever played with a DD-2/early large-chip DD3? I love that for both stutter and wonky built-up micro-loops. I know you are experienced with the DSD-2 which is the same sonically, but with a different "sample" implementation.

Now that I've experienced Particle, Judder, Possessed and Count to Five, I've been finding the sound and simplicity of the Raptio very attractive. This seems like yet another useful flavor, but the price of these things is killin' me (not that I don't think they are "worth it" in the scheme of things, far from it, just that I am not in a good position to partake of them the way I've done with fuzz over time). I was hoping the Boss DD-500 would be a kind of Glitch Timeline, but I don't think that's really the case (though it does hold some promise as yet another glitch source). Anyway, this is another one that lights it up for me--nice score!
