I like Nick Reinhart. He makes cool sounds with his guitar. :)

Also, that first Bygones record is great.

But he's no UG.

I don't get Nick Reinhart, nor Tera Melos. :idk:
UG wins by knockout. In the first round. Without throwing a fuzz punch.

Mexican wrestler mask. That would definately be his style. :thumb:

I don't either.

In fact I find those two to have the least useful demos I've ever seen, which is sad. They look like they have fun though, so whatever, but I can't ever base a purchase on them.

@jwar I don't think of either as making "demo" vids but rather, exhibition vids.
More like show & tell than a workshop/lecture; "this is such-and-such...but more importantly here's how I like to use it"

Hearing how pedals affect sound can be useful, esp when explored in such a way you probably wouldn't. You can always learn something by listening...but it's equally essential to keep an open mind.

What is all the T-Mel/Nick Reinhart hate? Wat?!? Dude is absolutely blowing the lid off of like 10 different genres at once, all while shredding and implementing effects in songs and ways most of us would never imagine. I do get why someone wouldn't like his "proto-wankery" but holy cow. What's next? Are you people gonna start talking shit about Battles?

"Ahh bro, he's playing all those notes. I'm not really into playing that many notes... or any notes for that matter. I feel like if you can get one note going, you've nailed it. Especially if you can get that note to happen without touching a guitar... Yeah. Man I hate notes. Particularily if there's more than one."

Just kidding ILF, but I will take proto-wankery and math-surfpop over drone/doom/snorecore any day of the week. I love you guys, but how can you not like Tera Melos? Wat?

I don't really know who Nick Reinhart is but he appears to be one of those so called "hipsters" I keep hearing about.

I don't know if everyone missed the first part of my comment, or is just ignoring it, but lest I get accused of "hating" Nick Reinhart lemme just go ahead and quote myself here... you know, for posterity...

some people are understandably not interested or don't get it which is fine, nobody is trying to pass off a stupid objective judgement calling it 'bad' or anything so there's really nothing to sweat, stuff like that generally doesn't happen much around here which is why i can tolerate a lot of things i'm not interested in or don't 'get' personally, because we're all different enough.
'math rock' and said 'proto-wankery' has kind of keeled over in the last few years, i love a lot of this kind of stuff but there's just as much circlejerking going on as with doom, black metal, shoegaze, anything. I think Nick has a fair degree of authenticity but from an outside point of view I can understand being put off by the aesthetic of it all.
