An overseas pedal builder, Gojiberry
is without permission, using intellectual property from the most famous cartoon in the world,
for a production line of pedals which are themselves, clones...in this case a Tubescreamer...but fanboys cry foul, accusing Acid Splash of stealing from [Goyaohboya] by doing a 1-off etching/rehouse featuring the same character. Did I wake up in the Bizarro Universe?

The functional illiteracy of those confused facebook posters perfectly punctuates this silliness.

Just looked at their website. They also offer the following original concepts:
Trembulator - name (and the least) directly taken from Baja Trembulator, a DIY classic over at fsb.
The "US fuzz". Description doesn't look related to Devi but there's some more originality for you.
The "Meatboy" coming in "light" and "dark" versions. No relation to the DAM product...

The funny thing, or rather funnier thing than a company using what looks like appropriated imagery on all of their pedals, which all seem based on circuits that themselves have been designed by others, is that they use that Homer image on a bunch of different pedals, so they can't even claim it's brand dilution as the image is neither exclusively associated with them or even one single pedal.

I find the whole thing fairly offensive really, as anyone with a modicum of intelligence wouldn't have made that post to start with, and even a dimwitted individual should know better when representing a business to handle such an issue in a slightly more professional way.

Very well said. Furthermore, isn't "Gojira" owned by Toho Co., Ltd or some other copyright holder? I know SNK didn't specially use the name when they made "King of the Monsters".

jwar, beyond all the lameness of this dude/"company", you actually do great work and are very upfront with what you do. Fuck "Gojira".

Yeah, Gojira was caught rehousing Mooers and selling them for daft money, also has a rep for taking people's money then taking an eternity to deliver. That eternity is usually filled with ignored emails and angry/aggressive replies from Gojira. Their rep is in a pit of pus and vomit, so their high horse act is fucking laughable at best.
