i don't mind freekish allegedly (my ass covered) repainting joyos and selling them as boutique if this is what they want to spend their profits on.
something for the eyes and something for the ears. keep it simple and classy. and joyo make some good pedals.
unfortunately i kept thinking i recognised the girls from other sites so was trying to put names to faces all the way through which was a bit distracting. but that might just be the way my attention works.

i heard 'beltane walk' was one of the t rex songs from that era most thought to be a likely candidate. this was from a bolan obsessive who collects bolan-related kit. so a reasonably credible source.
anyway, i just posted it in the 'what are you listening to thread' for your reference (as it doesn't fit in this one).

it's definitely one of the great lesser-known t rex classics. glittering charm in double-decker bus loads.

I mean, everyone's seen this already, right? For the sake of those that haven't. Now you're in on the joke, kids.

DAT FAT MAN IN THE CHAIR.
lol
For the love of God. Why do people do demos like that? It's one fucking knob! ONE KNOB!!! It can only do some much!
I guess the cracked out looking women are supposed to be appealing? I find it offensive. Like I'm some kind of womanizing scum bag because I like guitar pedals.

little bit harsh maybe, jwar. the girls are being paid to stand there and look cute so that's what they are doing. maybe different people have different ideas about what consititutes cute, but don't beat on the girls. it's not a demanding role intellectually speaking, so you can understand them looking a bit bored and disengaged. they are just doing their job as requested.

It's a harsh world.
But honestly I meant no offense.
The demo is terrible regardless.

i love that guy. i always think he's doing it on purpose and has a far darker, cryptic and mischievous sense of humour than anyone gives him credit for. he reminds me of when autistic savants make jokes. they get shrugged off and dismissed as obscure ramblings beyond our capacity to engage with, but i bet (if they wanted to) they could sit down with you and explain the full complexities of their joke (it may take days) and it would be outrageously funny. we are just not privy to their world and lines of thought. but sometimes you catch glimpses.
anyway, it always cheers me up when i see one of his demos. and the more time he takes to unpack the better. it becomes borderline fetishistic. is he going to read out the full warranty card? will he show the stickers for the controls in other languages? if he does i'm going to need some more tissues...
also worth noting that the term 'highlights' is entirely relative in this context.

Mixed feelings on this thread. Some demos are wicked bad, but also, in my experience, I can't get enough of ANY demos when I'm interested in a piece of gear. I'd hate for negativity to scare people away from making or sharing demos/music. There's enough negativity on the internet already, without creating open calls for more.

No offense to the OP...can't deny there's some hilarious stuff out there.

hey tom, didn't we used to be friends back in the myspace days?
agreed re 'more demos of gear is good'. and add into it that one man's treasure is another man's junk. one yt demo maker i'm a big fan of is rectal hygenist. (he/she probably exists here but i haven't joined the dots yet and worked out who it is). they make some of the best noise demos on the webs. but i know if i sent that demo to three quarters of my 'musician' friends then would say 'wtf, it's just unlistenable noise'. and a half crap demo can be half great. so more is more.
would probably concede that the title was quickly (badly) chosen. clumsy rather than malicious. exactly the same responses and clips could have been elicited with a less provocative or negative heading such as 'your favourite demo fails' or something. put a positive spin on it. i see where you are coming from when you see the words 'stupid' and 'lame' in a thread title eliciting feedback. but once members have posted in a thread i think i think it would be wrong to change the title, even for the best reasons. like changing a contract after someone has signed it. deceitful.
luckily there has been no hating here as the ilf crowd are not assholes. pretty much everything has been affectionate. so despite the title, i think it served its purpose and yielded some fun within the boundaries of 'not being an asshole'.
but i know what you mean.

He's UncleGrandfather on here. He's famous for the constantly incoming pedals. I love his demos too.
