I have a modular set of passwords divided in three levels: low level stuff for things I need to access quickly and don't care about if they get hacked (forums, free games, etc) that tends to be a minimal password. Then mid levels like my satellite emails (and there are many of them) and more permanent accounts (MMOs, blogs), those then to be mid size collections of letters with some words mixed in to help me remember them. Top level are my Control Email Address, bank accounts and most money-based websites, those are long strings of numbers and characters that I designed with the sole purpose of looking like a keyboard smash when typed (or, god help me, if I type them out in a unprotected field.) My top level passwords generally don't have symbols, as many user databases are terrible and tend to make them all the same. I don't know, I think way too much about this.

A buddy of mine use to do that, didn't believe in banks, thought they would just rip you off. He was good at saving too and lived in a pretty shitty neighborhood. He kept his cash under his mattress... ended up buying a brand new $27k car straight cash.

I actually use multiple ones for different stuff but they all are combinations of letters and numbers in an almost random order but feels right when I type them something similar to this:

A friend of mine translates guitar riffs into keyboard keys for his password, like guitar hero or something.
