the shimmer is the worst...it shimmers off-pitch.

in a continually-a-microtone-off kind of way.

Definitely can't hear that without paying serious attention -- my ear is pretty awful.
Shimmer sounds pretty awful to me in general, though.

Aaaaaaaaaaand, the shimverb on spring sounds pretty cool before fuzz.
Everything sounds pretty cool before fuzz.

The Phase 90 orange, the flanger, the black tremolo, the lo-fi, the white delay, the red cruncher, and the black secret all sound really good to me, especially if you scored them before the prices went up. At $50 it's hard to beat. At $88 now, it's not such a no-brainer.
I think the Eleclady flanger sounds pretty good.
The Eleclady is exactly how much I want a flanger. $50 worth and a tiny footprint. I really enjoy mine but rarely engage it. I also have a Bluescrab for light OD and a Hustle Drive to replace my problematic OCD and to take up less space. All in all I'm happy with my Mooers.

I always thought the shimmer setting on the mooer was somehow set at a 5th up and not a whole octave?

Yeah, it's a fifth up. Most fixed shimmers are an octave up, the actually interesting ones have more parameters (like the one in the Big Sky).
Shimmer is hard to use anyway, you can't help but noticing it and focusing on it whenever it's used in a track. I mean, there's a bit of shimmer in one track of A Winged Victory For The Sullen's latest album, and even though the music on this record is wonderful it makes this passage a tiny bit cheesy...
