See it's dangerous as shit! I have paid off everything I've put on there, but I can just see myself thinking "Oh I can pay this shit off" and it not happening then all that interest slamming me from the last 6 months. UGH.

I've NEVER had a card you could repeatedly use 6 months same as cash. I mean if I wanted to, I could buy a new pedal every six months and easily pay it off. A pedal. My problem is a I'll buy three or four....sigh.

Yeah, fuck PayPal. I've been trying to get rid of them but there are no decent alternatives that are both widely used and available in France. They screw you on exchange rates and I don't trust them with the security of my personnel information. My bank offers me an ecard service that is far more secure and cheaper for paying online but what I miss is a peer to peer money exchange thingy for when I sell stuff online and things like that.

Yeah pretty much the only reason I keep paypal is because its convenient for buying stuff off you guys.

I don't have any credit so I doubt they'd offer that to me.

Because of this thread I paid off my Paypal thingy, 4 months early.

I've only once considered buying something expensive enough that I couldn't outright afford it, made the decision to save/sell for 3 months instead. I've never been in debt, and hope that it can remain an option for me to do so. Credit is a scary mofo, a problem I wish had stayed with my parent's generation.

why pay more for something just because you can't afford it?

I just switched over from using my credit card to my savings account's mastercard and it didn't offer me the option not to use their rates.

Earlier this year I was invited to "paypal select" or whatever for longstanding positive performance. I still won't participate in any of their debt-encouraging services.

No negative balance, no buying shit I cant afford, no debt from gear. That's a rabbit hole I do not need to wander down...especially as a fella whose taste already trends toward the expensive end of the spectrum.

I like to call that, "having good taste".

Agreed it is the devil. All credit cards are the devil. That is why people like myself who are super compulsive buyers shouldn't have them. No joke though. I'm bipolar and we kind of get off mentally by buying shit. I'm not even joking.
