Get tyres mother fuckers! I don't wanna hear about any road accidents you lot had because, "ah man, I got this new oscillating granular fuzz. It was way cooler than getting boring shot like tyres that won't kill me."

I'm also up for new tyres in the next six months.
Hold me to my own advice when I'm looking for solid state bass heads from the 70s after Christmas.

This week on my wife's car I changed the oil, oil filter, air filter, battery, rotated the tires, topped off various fluids, and otherwise inspected things for the 30k mile service (at only 27k miles because I'm god damn efficient like that).

Once that was all taken care of, I bought a new fucking pedal tonight. The human-rodent/pellet-reward method always works! :joy:

well i got the oil changed yesterday.

should i have bought a telecaster last week? nah. but....

what should i be spending my money on?

I could be paying student loans off more quickly. i could save more so that we can remodel our kitchen but we don't have time....

my wife is great with her money. i'm not bad. i pay my bills on time and invest in my 401k and into some stocks and i pay our health insurance all straight from my check.

i could just be overpaying on those student loans, ya know. fortunately i'm not buying lots of peds. although this weekend might have me getting buck on some deals.

It costs money for sure. But I think getting my licence and my own car made a real change for the better in my life. I mean that I was never truly free to move as I pleased, and now I am. I can go to friends, on vacation etc... so much more easily. I mean I could literally step out of my place, step in the car and be at the Ocean less than a hour later.

Cars are annoying and expensive to own and destroy the planet and mean you have to deal with a lot of people who treat their vehicles as a status symbol and exhibit disgusting driving behaviour as an extension of their own awful egos.
But I echo the above sentiment. Depending on where you live though. In outer Sydney it's impossible to do anything without a car because the public transport system is so shitty. Getting a licence saved me a lot of time and let me do a lot of things I wouldn't have been able to do without it so no real complaints in the end.

Sometimes I wish I owned a clothes iron. Not very often, but sometimes.

Got no car, no people relying on me, no responsibilities. As long as I've got a place to sleep and something to eat, I'm good.

I need to save up a bit more so I can do some travelling over the next six months, though.

A saving account for the wedding (rent) and another amp to pair with my silverface Twin. Suggestions are welcomed.

All I'm getting from this thread is "Cars are money pits, fuck cars."

I do love my car.
But if you don't maintain them, they will only let you down.
Or, more to the point, they will kill you and/or somebody else.
I don't want that on my conscience.
But I don't mind spending money servicing my car. It's peace of mind.
I don't like coughing up for rego though.

Automobiles are the best thing ever. Personal transportation devices that can take you anywhere on land, just throw random bits of money at them.

Anywhere = Adventure
Adventure = Everything

Remember that old game Blaster Master? That is exactly how I feel every time I get into my Jeep. Except instead of dated graphics it is reality. :joy:

I have to spend money to fix my car this week, too.
