One of my buddies is exactly the same way. Having a text only conversation can make him look like a bit of an ass, but then you talk to him in person and you're thinking, "Hey, where'd that other guy go?"

What about Crown or QSC? We've been using QSC for live sound where I work for years, and they've always been fantastic. I've used Crown's before for live sound as well, and never had a problem.

I can definitely vouch for those mEat pre's. just absolutely killer. I always thought they were to expensive till I got to hear one on a regular basis. Worth every penny.

Yeah a crown with a Demeter or Alembic preamp is kind'a decimating for sure air moving thunder, ditch the lame tiny speakers for something of a reasonable size like 15s and or 18s and you can hurt nouns.

im looking at my preamp options, I need to play a few of the commercial options first. drpoop said he checked out the tone hammer today and said it was pretty fuckin rad. those alembics sound pretty fuckin good in clips. now if they just came with a wonkas golden ticket inside to include a free custom alembic bass.

Alembic F-1xs should be reasonable.. I ran one as a backup for years [SVTcls break down and shit…], lets see… samples…

but maybe I should just take my own advice and grab a pair of carvin b1500s?

I had one and loved it! I loved the tone, no preamp needed, theyre cheaper then some of those other power amps ive been looking at. . .

but theyre not as flexible as straight pro amps. . . you cant run a shitload of subs with bass amps. . . fuck.
