Awesome. As much as I love Muffs I think I'm gonna stop at these two for now.

I'm really wanting a Tonebender and Fuzz Face type for my next two fuzzes.

Damn bro. That's some serious Muff.

That's something else I need. A good Rat. What's the story with the Amp On Fire Muff?

It is, as far as I know, Alan from Mountainking's Big Muff Mod -- predates the Megalith, and probably informed the end product. Heavy as a pound of heavy can be.

Sounds cool. I'd love to hear one up close and personal. As much as I love pedals though, I'm not a flipper or collector. I find one or two things that work well for what I want and stick there. The LSTR covers so much ground I really couldn't see how I need more Muff, and I've got a sweet old Sovtek.

Next I'm going to hit a couple other flavors of fuzz. A local guy is going to make me a custom full on corksniffer Tonebender Mk 1.5 and 2 (switchable in one pedal), and Fuzz Face.

I flipped my last remaining muff type fuzz today

As much as I love what otherscan do with big muffs, they just dont work for me in a loud band. I always had to use some sort of trick to make my guitar barely audible (mods, stacking with rat, eq,...), and even than I usually prefered my more biting/cutting/nasty fuzz peds over the old wooly muff :idk:

Don't know how long I'll be able resist though, I've always been intrigued by opamp muffs, never ever tried one. And there's a couple popular boutique muffs I might grab if the right offer comes along. What the hell, srry for breaking the rules, but this is just a golden opportunity for some reverse spam: Anyone wanna get rid of a Supercollider, Musket, Mojohand 1978,...? :p

AOF muff

1 of 2 ever made. I had to sell mine when I was forced with

"does my wife, my dogs and I go hungry or do I start selling off my prized shit."

someone in my signature has it I think, I need to buy it back so bad. it was DISGUSTINGLY heavy. damn near unusable. perfect.

Is it weird that I've never really gotten along with Muffs?

I've tried out multiple current variants offered by EHX, the closest one I could get along with was the Micro Metal Muff. Then the power jack on it died, and I haven't really missed it since? Been meaning to fix it, but haven't gotten around to it.

That being said though, since I saw Skully's Arc Effects Big Green I've been stuck on listening to demos of that for the past hour. Highly tempted to go for one of those.

That's exactly what I love about the LSTR. The Scoop control lets you dial the mids in to cut. No need for another pedal. It does stack very well though, so there's that too.

Here's my Bluebeard.

I didn't have the etching done, I bought it this way from a dude I know.
I believe this is that guy's original artwork, and Sonny had Danny W. etch it?

I had a lstr for a while actually. It's pretty far from the type of triangle/rams head type muff I generally prefer. Dark, boomy, vacuum cleaner-y,...

For sovtek muff fans, or just anyone who's into doomy apocalyptic sludge drones, I highly recommend it :)
