Yeah if I end up getting my head around the mods and they're easy enough, and I don't have to drill out for new tube sockets for 88s I might do that.
Although, for now, I'd be happy with a functional amp I can depend on.

SLK, you should offer a shipped price and do it. If you can get one for under $400 total you'll have done well.

Just got this one in yesterday, I was hoping to get a 6 knob one but I couldn't beat the price on this. Looking forward to experimenting with it.

30 combo into any 4x12 I can get my hands on. Hagstrom d2f into home made boost pedal cranked into high sensitivity input, amp boost off. All preamp knobs around noon (sometimes less). Treble just short of dimed, Mids at 11:00, Bass between 9:00 and noon. No EQ boosts unless it's sounding really dark, and then I'll pull the treble (my guitar is super dark). Bit of reverb footswitched on and off (usually I hate reverb, but I like this), presence at about three o'clock.

It makes for a pretty fuzzy distortion that still has definition. You can back off it pretty well with the volume pot to and still be loud because there's so much gain. Plenty of other great tones, but that one is mine for now. It's sounding OK but the 6v6s are unmatched and weird. Gonna replace them soon.

Picked up my first aor yesterday, had a free day to myself and the local craigslist had some cheap heads I wanted to try out. Checked out a sovtek mig, a peavey vtm, and the laney aor. Ended up liking the laney the most. Damn thing was just plain out rude compared to the others, also had a fresh quad of wing'd c's, those alone are probably worth close to the price i got this for...

I'm loving my AOR. I'd get a 50 or a 100 in a second if I happened into one. They're so scuzzy! And I like the super-dark clean sounds, too.

I've actually had all three of those amps (Mig 50, VTM 120, AOR 30) and I'd take the AOR any day. The Mig 50 was pretty good too, but nowhere near the AOR in terms of aggressiveness and versatility. It always seemed to have kind of a soggy low end, but it was fun. I never could get the VTM to agree with me.

The white was a 20th anniversary run of 200, mine is #4. Wasn't sure about it at first, but after watching the price drop on this over the last few weeks I figure I'd take it for a spin.

Had a matching cab but not a fan of the g12 70's in it so had to pass on it. Found an old sunn 2x12 for $75 but some dick tore the tolex off of it and painted it neon green. Im just gonna refinish it to match the emperor cab it will be sitting next to and throw some g12 85's in it.

They just don't pop up enough down here.
