Clearly they took the $70 you saved out of the paycheck of the guy that packs stuff. He was just getting his silent revenge.

I am not a broke college kid. I am an adult with a job. I work hard all day, I deserve to treat myself. This things sounds great. Whether or not it is $999 great, is certainly debatable. The price was $849 last year, so I guess parts/his time cost went up. But I am quite happy with the sound thus far and that is all that matters. Still pissed about the shipping though. I really cannot imagine anyone in any circumstances packing it like that and thinking it was acceptable. It bothers me not only on this particular transaction level, but also on a much deeper - I weep for the future of mankind - level.

Not to step on your toes there friend, and I'm guessing everybody here is an adult with a job [I think...], and I couldn't agree more when you say you deserve [and should] treat yourself.
However, I can't resist to quetion: is a Reverb unit [or any one trick pony fx unit] worthy of a 999 dolars sum? Even in this day and age when in a blind test one wouldn't even know the difference between a digital reverb and an analog/tube/vintage/back-from-the-70's one?
Don't take it as a cryticism, though. It's the same quetion I'd ask a person buying a Mercedes over a Jaguar or a pair of Levis jeans over some Lee ones.

If you're broke, why are you looking into buying a shit ton of gear per the multiple threads you started? That seems pretty irresponsible, not to mention downright stupid.

Relax friend, don't feel attacked neither cryticised.
The gear I'm into buying is a) multiple, b) inexpensive [under 90€ brand new for the most part, and mot of them I can get for aroun 40€ used], c) easy to trade with other inexspensive gear and d) some are not one trick poneys.
Can't see why is it irresponsible, though. Is it irresponsible spending less than way less than $999 in multiple gear that will keep me entertained for quite as long as I've been playing guitar?
Is it stupid planing to buy a lot of things over the corse of time than forking over 2 months of salary on a Reverb unit? Sorry, I'm alo a wortking man, but I prefer to eat rather than 2 spending salaries [$999] on a single one trick poney effect unit.
To sum it up, I didn't call you names, neither was I disrespectful towards you [calling your $999 Reverb Unit buying an irresponsible or a downright stupid thing to do; it' your money, your business, no matter how foolih and ridiculous it may be], as I'm quite sure you'll agree.
Be well and peaceful friend.

Dude, you've implied Nora made a foolish and ridiculous purchase, and you've previously "questioned" whether any one trick pony is worth that money when, without having played it, you state there is no difference between it and a digital emulation.
Stop with the veiled shitting on Nora's thread, get over people valuing shit differently to you and contribute positively. It you're intrigued about how one goes about spending a grand on a reverb ask.
- hey Nora, what made you get this instead of an RRR (my favourite reverb fwiw)? Do you think it's worth a grand?
That makes for a way more interesting thread than harping on someone's spending habits.
I think price can be an interesting discussion topic but there are ways and means of discussing it.
