listen to that perfect way his voice breaks up, voice of an angel
and don't even get me started on rays playing
seriously these dudes are not given even close the amount of credit they deserve
And his voice got even better during danger days.
Agreed on Ray's playing. Dude's a monster.

I cringed so hard at this it actually hurt. Yeesh. I thought playing Dinosaur Jr at our wedding was lame.

you're all a bunch of nerds please tell me about how that incredibly obscure noise band that sounds exactly like how fast food restaurant chairs sound when you sit down is the epitome of musical talent

I just don't get this whole indie "songs that aren't catchy are the best and most artistic" mentality anymore

not exactly what my point is and bob dylan can't sing, as much as I like him, he can't, or at least doesn't remember how to...

Who are you even talking about, specifically? You surely have an example or twelve in mind.
Such rhetoric sounds like a similar rant made by the stuffy old *classic rock guyz* who think everything after 1980 is garbage.
I always identified MCR to be scene kid/mall goth music; primarily marketed towards girls who grew out of their nsync/bsb phase...and I've never associated the band with "catchy" anything. More image than substance along the lines of AFI, TBS, FOB & Good Charlotte.
Modest Mouse on the other hand, has some real catchy songs...and Isaac Brock started that whole *quirky vox* trend that countless wannabes meshed with Billy Corgan and mutated into some bastardized, whiny self-indulgence.

Art is subjective brah. There are peeps like you, me and a few other who love this shit, and that cool. And their are peeps who don't like this and like the more out there stuff and that's cool too.
Music is music, it shouldn't be something you fight over. It's something you should enjoy, not an excuse to debate the superiority of other genres and bands over other genres and band.
It's also an argument that shouldn't even be on this form. Ever.
Too much anger gets stirred up and I don't wanna fight with my fuzz bros.
