I've gone to a range before. I actually really enjoy target shooting.
But it is was too expensive a hobby to get into, plus I really can't justify owning one.
Maybe if I lived on a rural property....even then, maybe not.
Handguns, especially, fascinate me, because there is next to zero culture of that here.
My dad grew up hunting as a kid and got his first 22 rifle at like 8 or some shit in the 60s and my grandad on my mum's side blew his thumb and a few fingers off repacking bullets after he came back from Vietnam.
There hasn't been a lot to do with guns in our family since

lol. no offense taken. it 's an odd contentious issue HERE so..... yeah.
most replica stuff i've seen are built up from smaller calibers like 22 i think. like i've seen a replica of Robocop's gun, which was a 22 propped out in the movie i think? i was telling my little brother (wayyyy more into guns than i am) that dood should have mounted a speaker on it that did the PTF-PTF-PTF three shot noise the movie did every time he fired. he..... looked at me like i was an idiot. then called me an idiot. WOOOOO.
my dad has a few of the guns they turned into Han Solo's blaster. HE DOES NOT LISTEN TO MY PIMPERISH ARGUMENTS.

hee. you SILLY.
naw. even if you're not into guns, it just doesn't make sense.
30 day waiting period? i OWN guns. if i was the type of person to lose my shit and do something horrible because of UNCONTROLLABLE ANGER PASSION, the hell does waiting 30 days for a new one do? loads of guns aren't legal here for the silliest reasons.
ODD. PLACE.

AxAxSxS has got you in the right direction
What size barrel is on your SP101 behndy? I'd think you could just carry that in a pinch. Is it spurless? I want the .357 version, as it can shoot 357 or 38.
The S&W, Ax posted, is more the type of thing for comfortable concealment. I've tried a couple super compact designs like those, and they are a bit snappy (for obvious reason) but I had no accuracy issues, and totally confident in their abilities.
The smaller the caliber, the more I insist on hollow points. Sure they can be expensive, but you don't plink with them. Chances are you'll never have to shoot them. That being said, you should always test new types of rounds, before committing to carrying said types.
Oh and .380 is actually more expensive than 9mm. Weighs less though, and might have a greater capacity. Pretty important in a conceal carry situation. Haters be damned, even a well placed shot with a .22 is enough to make someone think twice (if ever again).
Currently, my only pistol is a sub compact 9mm (EAA Witness PC w/ 13+1 cap, older version w/o accessory rail). Just large enough to get a full grip. I have carried it plenty, but it's not ideal for concealed carry specifically. It's kind of wide (side stacks the rounds).

Exactly -- if you're the kind of person who's going to fly into a murderous rage, you shouldn't be able to swing down to the gun store and snag one while in the throes of passion. Makes perfect sense to me. If you're just waiting to buy a gun, then 30 days shouldn't be a big deal one way or the other.
I've lived in tiny rural communities before -- places where guns are guns and everyone has one for hunting and shooting at trees and stuff. That's a much different scenario than, say, someone who wants to "carry a Gun" in Chicago or Boston. I don't buy the anecdotal, mildly racist paranoia that tends to go along with people who own guns in large cities -- even when it's justified.
*Obviously I don't think you guys are racists, or paranoid*
Gun culture is, far and away, the most wild thing about living in America.

lol. i kind of agree with the "if everybody might be carrying, the violent crime rate goes down" theory.
Jero - jia. i misspoke. i have the 357 version. 2.5 inch barrel? it COULD be a carry thing, i've walked from home to the shop with it in my pocket and it was fine so on a holster mebbe even better? but that's the Always Leave At The Shop gun. want one more for me.
i am leaning towards a 9. there's officer style 45's that are neat too, but i'd kind of like to have a third caliber gun.
ugh. RESEARCH.

Yeah it works great if everyone's so homogenous that there will never be any kind of cultural dispute or inherent us-and-them schism that might be exacerbated by the presence of firearms.
I don't care one way or another about guns, but I think the 2nd amendment is fucking retarded.

interesting. meh. gun rights are like abortion and religion. by a certain age, no one's changing their opinion, just yelling their's over each other (not saying that's what you're doing) if you talk about it too much.
i respect yo opinions son.

Don't get the floor stickyyyy.
They've done psychology studies on aggression and found that just the thought of a gun can make people more aggressive.
Which explains why you're always so fucking belligerent Ben.
Guns are fun to shoot though.

..... not to have him do the grips. RARRRRR.
actually, my little bro works at a laser etching spot, he's way more a gun guy than i am, so he wants to take a wack at grips for this mebbe, but my 1911 too.
I'LL FIGHT YOU SAILORS. I'LL FIGHT YOU FOREVERRRRRR
that, and fondling my guns, is the only way i get hard anymore.
