Back in the day my friend and I used to drink his dad's home apple brew. It was pretty good, although I do remember it got ya ripped quick. Not sure what the percentage was. Perhaps in volume, home brew might be the way to go. There are some kits you can go buy to try it out.

Don't waste your time dude. It tastes shit. You would be better off drinking paint thinners. It would taste better and get you more hammered. The other prison beverage of choice is aftershave. And it makes your breath smell real nice!

If your considering this, I would also consider Jenkem, pretty close to same method, different ingredients . Psychadelics>than booze anyway.

It's made quite a bit around these parts, usually high school kids. They get a big bottle of welch's grape juice, pour some out then throw in the sugar and yeast, then put a balloon on the mouth of the bottle. Apparently it's not bad from what they've told me but I have yet to try it. Prison hooch on the other hand sounds downright awful.
