For some reason it's only one track that gets fucked up :?: So I worked on the other one.

So I took some time to dig through what I have written this month. Those tracks, plus some instrumental suites, will be more than enough for the full album. It even has a concept as it turns out, as well as a title, "Orbitoclast".

So yeah, GOOD TIMES IN ROSE LAND.

10 songs or 35 minutes?

Man, I could write 10 minutes of material and have over 35 songs.

Anyone want to work on this with me? I can't do recording, but I can easily write plenty of music.

That would technically pass, though I think it may fall under "defeats the purpose" :idk:

Are you incapable of recording because you lack the hardware or are you like me and stuck in the land of mixing and mastering retardation?

What hardware do you need to be able to record? There's a lot of freeware out there if you need programs, and places like radio shack ought to carry adapters for guitar cables so you can plug into your computer.

Both. I used to own some gear, but couldn't make any headway with it, so when I was low on cash at one point I sold it.

Track 1 done, Nothing fancy. Just a simple intro track based around the bass guitar. There is actual guitar but its mostly prepared guitar with me manipulating the pedals as sound comes through.

About to construct track 2 drums before moving on to live instruments.

I've used Audacity before and have all sorts of adapters. I just have no confidence in mixing, or recording without it sounding shit. The last time I even messed with it, my laptop kept mangling the audio, as if the sound card was bad or something. Haven't messed with it since. I have a friend or two that have equipment and know how, but it's a pain in the ass to get them to actually sit down and help.

Maybe the sound quality had to do with the adapters and not the computer :idk:
Here's a full DAW and you can use it for free (kind of). It may have preset mixing options, but I've barely delved into it.

Done a similar thing with the 12in12x12 project on FB the last 14 months - 12 songs done in < 12 hours, every month for a year. (12in12x12.bandcamp.com) - there's a few folks doing anything from little pop demos to full blown noise.
