I refuse to buy anything newer that 70's era stuff. My 76 van last broke down due to the transmission linkage selector indicator coming loose. Fixed with a leatherman and a washer I cut into a "C" shape and squeezed on there to keep it in place. Cost of repair? 5 cents maybe? Old shit rules.

Edit to add: if you go this route buy a chiltons manual for you vehicle. $30 and will pay for itself over and over again.

My car took a shit three weeks ago and i am STILL looking for something I can afford a monthly payment on plus full coverage insurance required for financed cars.
Borrowing an old lincoln with a v8 in the meantime. Shit sux
