Avoid other people, eat nutritious food, stay hydrated, get good rest.
Unfortunately these can be tricky in today's world.

Proactive:
Exercise.
Have a dog.
Wear gloves in flu season, especially when shopping. Use a scarf or balaclava to cover your nose/mouth.
Wash hands/face 1st thing when you get home. Periodically clean the regular contents of your pockets (keys, phone, wallet) and computer keyboards, doorknobs, steering wheel and so on.
Don't share food/drinks.

Reactive:
Up intake of ginger, garlic, cayenne, echinacea, goldenseal, peppermint, foods rich in vitamin c, zinc, magnesium, fiber.
Try to keep the body pH alkaline or as close to it as possible.
Bundle up & sweat it out overnight.
Change your bedsheets.

Vit. C won't work after you're already sick, it only works if you take it regularly as part of preventative maintenance.
Whilst I second a good hand washing routine, most shit is airborne, so good luck with that shit.
Also, you can avoid children if you straight up don't like them, but mostly, especially with kids, once people are snotty and look sick, they've usually moved past the infectious phase of the illness. But its still nice when people cover their mouths and faces to cough/vomit/puke blood.
I'm not saying those ideas are awful, most of em are great, but most people don't get how viruses work.
Like how everyone wants antibiotics for a viral infection. Not gonna do shit. They only work on bacterial infections.
Sources: I have two kids in daycare, they get bugs all the fucking time, and give em to me. I work with immuno-compromised people, who get sick all the fucking time and are constantly finding new ways to get their snot/phlegm/saliva/whatever the fuck else on my person. My wife is a medical scientist, working in immunology.
Which brings me to my next point: exposure. The more shit you're exposed to, generally the more resilient you'll become. Colds suck, as they're constantly evolving and they're the thing you're most likely to get, but if you harden the fuck up, you'll kick em quicker.
DoS was on it with fluid and bedrest. And Ax is on it with diet.
End rant.
Also, Ax, didn't know you had AS, dude. That fucking sucks. You sound like you're managing it pretty well, though.

My advice is opposite everyone elses.
Lick every door knob.
Get dirty.
I never get sick...ever. I can get grimy as fuck too. I'll eat food I dropped on the floor after I pulled it out the dogs mouth. No fucks.

Been grimy since I was was a kid. I think because i took in all these germs, my body has built up a strong immune system. I cant prove that but i believe it. It's not like I don't wash my hands or brush my teeth but with germs, I use my best judgement and not stress about it.

I could eat a turd and be fine.

 This threads great

Day two and the evil sickness living inside me doesn't seem to have worsened. I've just been downing juice and drinking tea+honey instead of coffee.

I wish I could stay away from people but I have to go to class, especially this early in the semester which sucks.

I never get sick if I am keeping to a regular exercise routine. Whenever I do get sick, it's right after I have missed like a week of working out.

That could be it for me. I played tennis a couple times a week over break but haven't for a week or so.
