admitadly it was the orange stripe that got me at first
but that commander with the emperor cab oofahtoofah

the commander ii intrigues me

as far as the acc150 goes
if im at home and dont have my board around
i can just plug into that and be happy

I've also been checking out the CR120, or possibly the Randall RG1003. Though I have no need for it, and I will hate myself next time I have to move, I justify it in my head by saying the Randall is like the price of a big stomp box...

ive had maaaaany SS amps, but I do prefer tube amps.
my favorite thing about SS amps is you can find an 800+ watt SS bass head slam it with a rat and have a loud as FUCK rig for cheaps

I've played both. Love both. For the last several years though I've been running a sunn beta bass and a Randall rg80es, and I love it. Beta bass into 2 2x15 cabs and the Randall into a 2x12 and a 4x12. Sounds massive. Volume for days. Can run either the natural dirt of the amps or run them clean and slam them with my board (which is my usual route).

Vulcan? I cant say ive heard of that.
I almost picked up an ancient Peavey head with built in fuzz and flanger but it sold before i could get to it

The Vulcan was one of Peaveys first SS, made by Hartley Peavey himself above his dads music store. Has built in tremolo and fuzz. The spring reverb is massive cathedral like.
Bought it for $40 at my local MGR. And sending it put for restoration and fixing this week. I'm also having the fuzz circuit changed to a Muff, because frankly the stock circuit sounds like wet farts.

So speaking of Peaveys...there are so many of them. Which Peavey SS should I be on the look out for? In other words, which are the ones that fall into the category of "if you see it, buy it!"?

PEAVEY KVLT...
Any Peavey that looks cool usually sounds cool... I'm on the hunt for a Standard but if you see a TNT 130 for cheap I'd say get it, may favorite 15'' combo and it can get real Doomy with the Punch knob pulled... I had an Ampeg VH140C last year and can attest to the scooped Metal toanzzz of loudness...

Never owned anything other than solid state. The closest I've gotten to owning t00bz is playing through John's Peavey Classic 400. Love solid state sunn stuff, though. And peavey.

Old Peavey stuff is cool, but searching for info on it online?? Not so fun. Its funny, every single Marshall or Fender ever made has loads of info but try to find out about early peaveys.........

I'm keen on these orange heads as well...just haven't had time to really put one through its paces.
I do have a Peavey back home (in Australia) that i havent used since moving to the UK...its a Studio 112 i think...it sounds so good. I have tube amps now, but those old Peavey's are absolutely awesome.
Never had a randall amp, but these new Randall RG13's seem really cool...they work as a preamp, or as a regular pedal, as a DI and a quiet practice tool with headphones...seems pretty good.
