If you can carry it, roll it, or at least fit it into a vehicle for some kind of gig (without needing to break it all down and reassemble it), that seems pretty portable to me.

Yeah I think frankenhorse is a good idea. I don't feel like I have a Fancy Horse board but I also don't think I have a Genius Budget Horse board.

Guys, don't take the categories tooo seriously. I meant them to be more of a guideline to thinking about the pedalboards for the people that cast their votes and for people that submit their boards. I mean, for some portability and ease-of-use is a predominant factor when they put together a board (nonetheless I've seen Univalve gig with a board that was bigger than my door.) For others it's more of an aesthetic experience and they might go for a themed board. For others it's only about sounds they can make and they don't give a shit about brands or anything and for some it's about having a select few of refined pedals and they might've gone through 20 fuzzface circuits until they found the holy pedal and now they really want to show that holy pedal. I don't think anyone belongs in only one of these categories, but if I take myself as an example my dominant way of thinking about my boards is as a workhorse. I want it to be simple enough to use on a stage while singing and I definitely don't want to lug more than my PT-one to rehearsal every week.


It's all a little tongue in cheek anyway, because no one can tell how people will vote in the end. Maybe the workhorse that happens to be all chrome pedals will win even though it could also have entered the showhorse category.

And I certainly won't refuse any submitted boards.


Speaking of refusing, while I have to admit to poking at Uncle Gramps there, I am not against him entering. (Edit: to the contrary, it'd be fun to see what he comes up with) But a Boards of ILF is what it is, building a board is always about selection, board estate and routing. That is definitely something to take into account when you are building an actual board and it's something I like to think about when I look at boards and even more so when it's time to select a favorite.



There have already been donations. I will not reveal anything before boarding (pun!) is completed, trying not to lure people on here that are in it for the prizes, but DANG! there is some sweet loot in the pot.
